Process of Booking

Have you always wanted to book a professional photoshoot, but unsure of the process of finding the right photographer, finding the perfect location, and overall booking the shoot?

I am here to make that easy for you!

A photographer is providing a service for you, so any questions you have, be sure to ask! Do not worry if you are asking too many questions or adding in too many details, a great photographer will understand.

First step: Do your research on the photographer. Check their website and social media for testimonials, their editing style, see if they have any reels or behind the scene footage that displays their personality. The personality of your photographer makes a world of difference. If the photographer is boring, stiff, or uncommunicative, you will also feel that way and your images will look uncomfortable. You want to find a photographer who can make you laugh, you can be silly with, who gives you feedback throughout the shoot. A lot of this can be found out through viewing their platforms, but even more can be found out by just speaking with them. You want to choose a photographer you can vibe with!

If you choose a great photographer, they will also recommend a great location for the exact needs and wants that you have. Many times I have people say “I don’t know a location though, do you?” If you know me, I always have a location up my sleeve! A quick discussion of the styles of photo you want and I will have a view locations recommended for you to check out. If you don’t know where to shoot and the photographer expects you to provide the location, it might be a good time to run!

As for the actual process of booking, always message the photographer of interest and describe to them exactly what you want— type of shoot, how many people involved, date you’re hoping to shoot on, your budget, and ask the photographer for a quote for those services. The photographer will ask you any remaining questions that they did not get answered in your initial message to be able to provide an accurate quote. When they provide you a quote, it up for you to decide if you would like to book with them or not. If you do accept a quote and choose a shoot date, do not be alarmed if the photographer asks for a deposit from you— their time is valuable and you are reserving it, they must ensure no business or time is lost. Ask all questions necessary to understand the rules of the shoot and why the deposit is necessary. But, make sure somewhere on paper it is noted that a deposit is received— you do not want to be scammed!

Following the booking, the photographer will get in contact with you closer to the date to ensure everything is good to go and the shoot runs amazingly 🙂

PS.. I am THAT photographer. You can vibe with me and you’ll be 100% comfortable. AND I’ll make the booking process easy peasy! 😉
